What a service contract should cover

  1. 1Who the agreement is between

    Use each party's legal name and, for a company, who is signing for it.

  2. 2The scope of work

    Describe exactly what you'll deliver. A clear scope is what settles most disagreements.

  3. 3Price and payment schedule

    State the total and when each payment is due, such as a deposit at signing and the rest on completion.

  4. 4Dates

    Give a start date, and an end date or how the agreement can be ended.

  5. 5How changes are handled

    Agree that changes to the scope are made in writing, with a change order both sides sign.
